·        Guest speaker:

Marji Marshall from Mountain Fitness Training Center:  Mountain Fitness Training Center started 2 years ago with help from Boulder Sports Medicine.  They specialize in getting a detailed training plans for endurance athletes and individuals.  Winter training for cyclists should include long, slow riding to build a good base by keeping your heart rate below your lactate threshold.  MFTC can help you determine this level and have classes geared to building your base in the off-season.  Marji gave out folders filled with information and free class coupons to everyone.

Sean Leenaerts is a USA Cycling-Certified Coach: Sean talked about the Junior Development Cycling Team that he coaches through Mountain Fitness Training Center.  Sean follows the Chris Carmichael system of periodization with the Jr. team.  Nutrition was a big challenge with the 10-18 year olds.  They are learning some basic skills of balance that lead to better group rides.  Parents have a very active role in the group rides so everyone stays together.  If you have a child that wants to get into cycling this is a great program and more info is available by contacting Sean at 720-272-8492.
